India's Rank in Renewable Energy

India ranks 4th globally in both solar and wind energy. India is the only major economy growing renewable capacity at 23%+ annually. Renewable energy now provides ~43% of India's total installed power capacity — up from 18% in 2015.

2030 Target: 500 GW

India has committed to 500 GW renewable energy by 2030: 280 GW solar + 140 GW wind + 80 GW hydro/other. India also targets 5 MMT/year green hydrogen production and a 45% reduction in carbon intensity from 2005 levels.
